For me, art is indescribable. It can be something painted on a page, sculpted out of marble, or a combination of the two. Art is what happens when we let our imagination take over.

Per me, non è facile descrivere l'arte. L'arte può essere qualcosa che è dipinto, scolpito e tutto ciò che viene trasformato in qualcosa di originale, piacevole e creativo. Questo accade specialmente quando noi permettiamo alla nostra immaginazione di viaggiare libera.

Biografia

My name is Stephanie. I study biology at the University of California, Berkeley. I am currently studying abroad in Rome and taking classes in Ancient Roman Civilization, the History of Baroque Art, and Italian language. I love being here in Rome.

Mi chiamo Stephanie. Studio biologia all' Università di California a Berkeley. Sono all'estero a Roma e frequento corsi di storia della Roma antica, Storia dell’Arte del barocco, e la lingua italiana. Mi piace molto stare qui a Roma.

I have taken a few drawing classes before, but I have never really worked very much with acrylics. I have had the most amazing experience learning from Giorgio and Franco ad Artebottega. They are very patient and great teachers.

Ho frequentato alcuni corsi di pittura prima di venire a Roma, ma non ho mai lavorato con gli acrilici. Ho avuto una esperienza incredibile imparando da Giorgio e Franco ad Artebottega. Loro hanno molto pazienza e mi concedono una grande disponibilità e attenzione.



Stephanie De Marco - Impressionist trend ... Unsophisticated, crude, a technique still in its infancy. Still unable to describe the subject with simple spontaneity and simplicity seems to write in a notebook of travel notes. Ready in his personal and artistic improvisation, with a clear description of his story. Stephanie is one of five students from the University of California in Rome ... Since January 2012, have been involved in a Roman adventure at the laboratories of Artebottega. They did not have previous artistic experience, except for Alyssa who had taken a course in illustration. Their experience was based on the artistic skills taught in high school with the use of basic pedagogical materials: pencils, pens, and the rest. In our laboratory they had the opportunity to garner experience and learn pictorial techniques, in this case, with acrylic colors, and painting together with other artists in the laboratory. The works on exhibition are the testament of their profound engagement over the course of four months with weekly meetings (two hours twice a week), without taking anything away from their studies, which were the primary reason for their being in Rome. It was not easy for either of us because they did not speak Italian and we did not speak English but there arose among us a universal, and deeper language---that of art and of the heart. With deep affection, all of the "Friends of the Laboratory of Artebottega" extend a sincere thanks to these young people for the commitment and seriousness of purpose with which you all have undertaken this journey.

Stephanie De Marco - tendenza impressionista... Poco raffinata, grezza, una tecnica ancora ai primordi. Riesce comunque a descrivere i soggetti con semplice spontaneità e la sua semplicità sembra scrivere su un blocco notes degli appunti di viaggio. Pronta nella sua improvvisazione artistica e personale, ad una precisa descrizione del suo racconto. Stephanie fa parte dei cinque studenti dell’Università della California in Roma... che si sono avvicendati da Gennaio 2012 in questa avventura romana nei laboratori di Artebottega...Non avevano esperienza di pittura, esclusa Alyssa che aveva alle spalle un corso di illustratrice... la loro esperienza era basata su criteri artistici che si insegnano nei licei, con l’utilizzo di strumenti didattici di base: matite pennarelli e quant’altro... Nel laboratorio hanno avuto l’opportunità di fare esperienza e apprendere tecniche pittoriche in questo caso con i colori acrilici, e dipingendo insieme ad altri artisti presenti nel laboratorio... Questi lavori sono la testimonianza del loro impegno profuso in 4 mesi con frequenza settimanale (2 ore x 2 giorni), senza togliere spazio ai loro studi, scopo primario della loro presenza in Roma... Per noi non è stato facile perché loro non conoscevano la lingua italiana e noi tanto meno l’inglese... ma tra noi ha prevalso un linguaggio profondo, universale... quello dell’arte e quello del cuore. Con profondo affetto, un grazie a questi ragazzi da tutti gli “Amici del Laboratorio di Artebottega”, per l’impegno e la serietà con cui hanno affrontato questo percorso...
