Descrizione As for my philosophy of art, I really believe that anyone is capable. Everyone sees the world in a different, fascinating, beautiful way. And everyone expresses his/her impressions uniquely. Consequently, every stroke, every line, every dab of paint counts, adds to a style. And even if that be it, the end product is always representative of something, somewhere. Per quanto riguarda la mia filosofia nell’ambito dell'arte, credo che ognuno di noi abbia la capacitàdi esprimersi con l'arte, deve solo impegnarsi a farla uscire fuori dal di dentro. Ognuno di noi vede il mondo in modo diverso, affascinante, così bello, ed esprime le sue impressioni in modo univoco. Di conseguenza, ogni tratto, ogni gesto, ogni goccia di vernice conta molto, ed aggiunge uno nuovo stile. E qualunque che sia, il prodotto finale è sempre rappresentativo di qualcosa che "esiste"... da qualche parte.
Biografia Ciao, I am Alyssa Yousif from sunny San Diego, California. I am a fourth-year student at UC Berkeley, majoring in Neurobiology and studying abroad in Rome for the semester. I plan to attend pharmacy school in the very near future, but for now, my hobbies include anything having to do contemporary/modern art, film, or music. And baking of course! Ciao, io sono Alyssa Yousif dalla soleggiata San Diego, California. Sono una studentessa al quarto anno presso la UC Berkeley, per una laurea con specializzazione in neurobiologia. Attualmente studio a Roma presso la University of California in Roma per un semestre. Ho intenzione di specializzarmi in farmacia in un futuro molto prossimo, ma per ora, coltivo i miei hobby e cioè qualsiasi cosa abbia a che fare con l’arte contemporanea e moderna, del cinema o della musica... E anche il piacere della cucina, ovviamente!
Percorso Stunning. - Before this studio experience, I had taken a couple of years of art in high school, one at my university and another illustration class just for fun. From all of the media I have worked with, my favorite is probably ink, as I like the bold contrast, precision and detail that the pen allows. I love to draw and also enjoy using charcoal, chalk, and oil pastel. Nonetheless, I am thankful that Giorgio makes me paint, because there is always so much room for improvement. Van Gogh, Chagall, Warhol & Lichtenstein, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sandra Dieckmann, Rob Ryan, Craig Thompson: just a few of my favorite artists. Percorso - Prima di questa esperienza di studio, avevo avuto esperienza di arte un paio di anni al liceo, uno presso la mia università e un'altra in un corso di illustrazione, ma solo per divertimento. Tra tutte le tecniche e i mezzi con cui ho lavorato, il mio preferito è probabilmente l'inchiostro, mi piace il tratto a volte grassetto e il forte contrasto dell’inchiostro e la precisione e il dettaglio che la penna permette. Amo disegnare e anche divertirmi con carboncino, gesso, pastello e olio. Tuttavia, sono grata al laboratorio che frequento in “Arte e Bottega” e che con “pazienza” Giorgio mi impegni costantemente nella pittura, dandomi l’opportunità con l’esperienza del dipingere, di migliorare le mie conoscenze tecnico-artistiche. Alyssa Youssif: artist, illustrator, prefers drawing with ink, graphite, charcoal ... the experience in the laboratory of artebottega, however, has shown the ability to produce works in any proposed technique ... is one of five students from the University of California in Rome . Since January 2012, have been involved in a Roman adventure at the laboratories of Artebottega. They did not have previous artistic experience, except for Alyssa who had taken a course in illustration. Their experience was based on the artistic skills taught in high school with the use of basic pedagogical materials: pencils, pens, and the rest. In our laboratory they had the opportunity to garner experience and learn pictorial techniques, in this case, with acrylic colors, and painting together with other artists in the laboratory. The works on exhibition are the testament of their profound engagement over the course of four months with weekly meetings (two hours twice a week), without taking anything away from their studies, which were the primary reason for their being in Rome. It was not easy for either of us because they did not speak Italian and we did not speak English but there arose among us a universal, and deeper language---that of art and of the heart. With deep affection, all of the "Friends of the Laboratory of Artebottega" extend a sincere thanks to these young people for the commitment and seriousness of purpose with which you all have undertaken this journey. Alissa - artista illustratrice, predilige il disegno con inchiostri, grafite, carboncino... l’esperienza nel laboratorio di artebottega, ha comunque evidenziato la capacità di produrre opere in qualsiasi tecnica proposta... fa parte dei cinque studenti dell’Università della California in Roma... si sono avvicendati da Gennaio 2012 in questa avventura romana nei laboratori di Artebottega...Non avevano esperienza di pittura, esclusa Alyssa che aveva alle spalle un corso di illustratrice... la loro esperienza era basata su criteri artistici che si insegnano nei licei, con l’utilizzo di strumenti didattici di base: matite pennarelli e quant’altro... Nel laboratorio hanno avuto l’opportunità di fare esperienza e apprendere tecniche pittoriche in questo caso con i colori acrilici, e dipingendo insieme ad altri artisti presenti nel laboratorio... Questi lavori sono la testimonianza del loro impegno profuso in 4 mesi con frequenza settimanale (2 ore x 2 giorni), senza togliere spazio ai loro studi, scopo primario della loro presenza in Roma... Per noi non è stato facile perché loro non conoscevano la lingua italiana e noi tanto meno l’inglese... ma tra noi ha prevalso un linguaggio profondo, universale... quello dell’arte e quello del cuore. Con profondo affetto, un grazie a questi ragazzi da tutti gli “Amici del Laboratorio di Artebottega”, per l’impegno e la serietà con cui hanno affrontato questo percorso...
